THE DESTRUCTION OF TASMANIA'S ANCIENT 'REGROWTH' FORESTS - a report on high conservation value forests of the Derwent district

This report was produced by Still Wild Still Threatened to examine the exceptionally high conservation values of forests defined as 'regrowth' that are currently under threat from logging operations.Four case study coupes in the Derwent district are examined. These coupes are defined as regrowth under the Regional Forest Agreement, despite the fact they have never been logged. These ‘regrowth' forests contain ancient trees, rainforest and wilderness values adjacent to the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
